Proof of age
Poofsuits will not do business with anyone under the age of 18. Proof of age in the form of photo with photo ID may be required. We do not share your personal information with anyone. By commissioning us, you are agreeing that you are at least 18 years of age or older.
Quotes and Applying
Quotes are only given to applicants who we are interested in moving forward with during each opening. If you are not selected, you are encouraged to try again next time we are open! Quotes are only valid during the opening in which they are given. Each opening will require a new quote. Quotes can vary based on features, complexity, cost of materials and color count. The total price is subject to increase in the event of requested changes and/or new additions agreed upon during the construction process.
Payment
Please make sure you are financially committed when commissioning us.We require a down-payment of 40% of your quoted total upfront for custom commissions. This down-payment is nonrefundable, as we use it to purchase supplies and materials for your fursuit. We complete only the beginning stages of construction if less than 50% of your quoted total is paid. After full payment, we begin patterning and furring, and work towards completion.Short-term monthly payments are available at a minimum of 20% of your total quoted price. Payments are expected in a routine manner, so we can continue working on your suit. Our queue is small so we can focus on you and provide a quick turnaround, which is why we only offer short-term plans. Delayed and missed payments will cause a delay in our work. If payments are abandoned, we reserve the right to cancel your commission, however we will refund everything excluding the non-refundable 30% down-payment.We accept payments via Square
Requirements, Style, and Change Requests
We require a clear and concise 3-view reference sheet of your character when applying for a commission slot. A 3-view reference includes a front, side, and back view. Important character features should be made noted. We will work in our own personal style, and will not be asked to imitate another makers signature look. Please make sure you can picture your character in our style before working with us! Additional requests and changes that are submitted after receiving your quote, and/or during the build process may result in additional charges. Please notify us of changes and requests as soon as possible! Drastic changes such as swapping a different character other than the one quoted and accepted will not be honored. There may be restrictions as to what we are capable of making, with limitations out of our control, such as fur color/length availability.Fursuits that include a bodysuit will require an up-to-date well made Duct-Tape-Dummy (DTD), shipped to us at the client's cost. If your dummy is not made accurately or it is outdated, it may result in a body suit that may not fit correctly, and the client will be responsible for revisions costs. We will send our favorite DTD build guide to accepted clients.
Refunds and Cancellations
The 40% down-payment is nonrefundable. Any supplies purchased, and work completed belongs to Poofsuits and will not be given to the customer in the event of a cancellation or refund. Please alert us if you believe we can agree to a resolution that would avoid cancellation. In the event of a cancellation and refunded commission, work already completed becomes our property, and we reserve the right to finish and sell any work we have completed. If the commission is cancelled in the later stages of construction, major changes to the character design are not always guaranteed before completion and selling, although we will try our best to do what we can to make the character different. We reserve the right to cancel a commission if we find a customer breaking our terms of service. If for any reason we need to cancel by no fault of the client, a full refund will be given.
Shipping
Shipping is not included in your quote, and is an additional charge paid for by the customer. We will not ship your order until it is 100% paid. Due to varying sizes and weights of handmade items, shipping prices are determined after the fursuit is completed. We may require insured signature delivery within the US. Poofsuits is not responsible for damaged or lost packages handled by postal carriers.Convention delivery is possible if we will be attending the same event as you! There is no charge for hand-delivery.
WIPs and Deadlines
We will provide Work In Progress (WIP) photos at our discretion, usually at integral and interesting stages. Updates and plans and projections are given regularly. Because of the many unpredictable outside factors that could delay work, we cannot agree to hard deadlines. We will communicate our projected finishing time with the customer, although we are still learning our workflow timing and any predictions are not guaranteed. We ask that all communication from customers remain business related. We will update you on work done at pivotal points of construction (most WIP photos aren't very interesting!), so please keep progression inquiries reasonable, as too many updates can slow us down.. We will always ask for your approval at very important stages, and we always ask questions when we need them. Unkind and unreasonable behavior can result in cancellation and/or blacklisting.
Warranty and repair
We will provide basic repair free for 3 months (or one convention) after your fursuit is received. Basic repair includes any errors we may have made, and normal wear and tear, such as popped seams. If we suspect that damage was done intentionally or by extreme carelessness and misuse, or if our work has been heavily modified by anyone other than Poofsuits, we reserve the right to refuse repair or charge a repair fee. Please make sure the part you are sending to us is clean, or we may charge a cleaning fee. The customer will always pay shipping to and from Poofsuits in the event of needing repairs. After 3 months (or one convention), we may charge a fee for repairs.
Liability and Disclaimers
ALLERGIES: Our workshop is located in a dedicated room in our home. We own two cats, so fur and dander may find its way onto our work despite a thorough clean and inspection before shipping. Those with allergies may react, and those with severe allergies should avoid commissioning us. We only use all-new materials. With every costume we make, we grow and learn new techniques. Some creation methods will differ from costume to costume as we evolve. Understand that we are making unique, one of a kind wearable pieces of art, and that there will inevitably be small imperfections present. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail, but we are not perfect!Understand that we offer kemono-inspired designs, and these style fursuits sacrifice some ventilation in favor of design. They have small mouths, and will not breathe the way traditional open-mouthed fursuits do. Experience in fursuiting is recommended, but not required.Poofsuits is not responsible for any bodily harm that occurs while wearing or handling our work. Become hydrated before and during suiting, practice walking, learn your heat and vision limits, and don't do anything that would risk your safety or the safety of others!Poofsuits reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. We will not make copyrighted characters or characters that do not belong to you.

We have a kemono inspired style, aiming for adorable and expressive! Our heads are a hybrid of resin and lined foam. We hand-sculpt, mold, and cast our bases right in our own workshop! The interior of our heads are roomy, with provided removable headpads - allowing an adjustable and snug fit that still allows airflow. Resin easily wipes clean, and headpads are machine-washable. All of our heads come with removeable tongues.Depending on the species, we can offer hidden ear vents.
When shaping our body suits, our goal is creating a well-balanced and proportioned silhouette, for maximum cuteness! We use a lightweight pillow style padding, which is easy for costume assembly, travel, and washing. Padding zippers allow for easy stuffing removal or replacement. We offer fully lined zip-on outdoor digitigrade feet built on footwear, so your feet are comfy and secure always.Small tails are sewn directly into the suit for seamlessness, but have an interior zipper for unstuffing. Bigger tails attach to the body via zipper, and can be worn independantly for patial suiting. Bigger tails have a zipper for unstuffing, making them easy to wash. Our stuits are double stitched for strength.
About us
We are a husband and wife team who met at as coworkers in our previous workplace as performing mascots for a very large theme park! We have spent thousands of hours in costume, interacting with guests and performing in shows. Behind the scenes, we were repairing costumes and fabricating new pieces, too. Our shared love of performing eventually saw us looking towards attending Anthrocon together - and that's when the idea for Gadget and Gizmo, our own fursuits, happened. We built them together, using some of what we learned by working with our mascot costumes up close. In 2017, we attended our first Anthrocon together with our fursuits. We had so much fun, we knew we wanted to dive into furry life completely and travel to more conventions, make more costumes, and meet new people. Since then, we've become a married couple with a home and a workshop, where it's now possible for us to take Fursuit commissions!
